Charlotte Spires

Chief Veterinarian for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services's (HHS) NationalDisaster Management System's (NDMS) National Veterinary Response Team (NVRT) located in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR). In this role she oversees and coordinates all aspects of the NVRT, serves as subject matter expert on veterinary mission activities, acts as principle veterinary medical advisor to HHS Regional Administrators and Regional Emergency Coordinators for emergency preparedness and planning, and develops veterinary policies and guidance to carry out HHS, ASPR, ASPR's Office of Emergency Management and NDMS legislative mandates for readiness.
